Hyderabad: The staff of 108 ambulance service of Telangana State has gone on strike from midnight of Wednesday as the series of negotiations they had with the joint labour commissioner B Ajay failed. The 1650-odd employees of the GVK-EMRI services are demanding a pay hike from the current Rs. 9,000 t0 Rs. 20,000.
During the talks, the GVK representatives rejected all the demands made by 108 staff. The staff also demanded reinstatement of about 60 employees who were removed by the management. According to Association president Mahender Reddy, the GVK representatives walked out of the talk’s mid-way and this resulted in announcement of strike by the 108 staff.
