AP to choose consultant for Signature IT tower at Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: The Government of Andhra Pradesh that has identified Visakhapatnam as the IT capital of the state has invited proposals for the appointment of consultants to design and build Signature Tower at Rushikonda IT SEZ and then evolve a unique funding pattern.

AP wants to build the iconic super-structure, Signature Tower, that needs to be developed on the lines of the Cyber Towers in Hyderabad.

The building is to have one million square ft. of built-up area and is proposed to be built on Hill No. 3 that has a sea view on 21.16 acres, according to reports.

According to AP's IT Secretary B. Sreedhar, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is keen to fast-track the construction of Signature Tower on a time-bound manner.

Meanwhile, to give a boost to the net connectivity for the benefit of IT hubs in the state, the state government is preparing to sign an MoU with Google to provide 10 Mbps connection to each household on payment of Rs.150 per month, according to Sreedhar.
