Telangana,Andhra Pradesh,fake degrees
In the management quota admissions to engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh State and Telangana, another fake certificates scam has unfolded. With fake Class XII certificates from Boards “approved by the Planning Commission”, non-existent Boards and fake school education Boards in Bangladesh, Nepal; students are found to be admitted in colleges. So far in random checks, hundreds of such fake certificates have been identified and the process is still going on.
As part of the ratification process of the management quota admissions, officials from the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education are randomly verifying certificates. Management quota admissions from last year are already under the scanner.
The APSCHE is taking up the ratification process of admissions under the management quota for both states. The Andhra Pradesh or Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education recognizes only Class XII certificates issued by the member Boards of the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) for admissions in the two states.
Officials found certificates while verifying documents from Boards such as State Board of School and Technical Education, headquartered in Bilaspur of Chhattisgarh that does not exist.
Class XII certificates from Boards have been attached by several students in Bangladesh and Nepal. Officials also found another fake certificate that claimed to be approved by the Planning Commission and also has an ISO certification.
