: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday received the Liberation Award of War Honor on behalf of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Bangabhaban in Dhaka. PM Modi said it's a moment of great honor & pride for him and the people of India to receive the award on behalf of Vajpayee.

Praising Vajpayee for his skillful leadership, Modi said that he is a great leader who dedicated his entire life for the service of country and fought for the rights of the common man. Bangladesh Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina said that she would have been very happy if Vajpayee would himself had been present to collect the award. Meanwhile, Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid also greeted PM Modi on the occasion and hoped for improved Bangladesh-India friendship.
