I am ready to face such a test if Mr. Naidu agrees for that. Let's all sit together in front of live cameras of news channels and face the test, said K.T. Rama Rao.
Telangana Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K.T. Rama Rao, who is also son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has challenged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to face a lie detector test during live telecast so that people know the facts.
“I am ready to face such a test if Mr. Naidu agrees for that. Let's all sit together in front of live cameras of news channels and face the test as people need to know the facts”, Mr. Rama Rao told reporters here on Monday. He faulted the attempts of TDP leaders and media supporting Mr. Naidu to cover-up the immoral act of cash-for-vote offer to elected legislators during the recent biennial elections to six vacant seats in the Telangana Legislative Council in the MLAs' category.
The TDP leadership was trying to falsely fix him in corruption charges with the help of media organs supporting it so that they could trouble Telangana Chief Minister through him, he alleged. He also pitied the TDP leaders' contention on the voice in the audio tapes exposed on Sunday.
Referring to the conversation between Mr. Naidu and nominated MLA in Telangana Assembly Elvis Stephenson in which the former assured the latter of keeping the promise made for working together, Mr. Rao said “If the voice in the audio tapes is not that of Mr. Naidu, I will challenge him to face a lie detector test along with me in front of live cameras so that people know the truth. It's necessary that people know who's sane and who's insane. Mudslinging against each other won't serve any purpose”, Mr. Rama Rao said.
He flayed the attempts of the TDP leadership to paint the `cash-for-vote' issue as a dispute between the people of Telangana and AP. “It's not so. It's an issue between some individuals. I request the people of AP to oppose such attempts”, the Telangana Minister said.
Mr. Rama Rao alleged that the TDP leaders were trying to support the immoral act even after their deputy leader in the Assembly was caught with Rs. 50 lakh cash for bribing an MLA. “Law will take its own course as it's equal for all, whether it's Mr. Naidu or somebody else”, he added.
