Land Identified for Industries in EG District
The district administration, as per the directions of district collector Neetu Prasad, identified 500 acres of government land in various places in the district for setting up various industries, according to district chief planning officer (DCPO) Vijaya Lakshmi.
Disclosing this to TNIE here Thursday, the DCPO added that similarly it had identified 50 acres of land in Jegurupadu village of Kadiyam mandal for setting up a horticulture university or a horticulture research centre and 100 acres of land in Vemulapalli village of Mandapeta mandal for establishing a petrochemical university. She said that Vemulapalli village had good road and rail connectivity from Rajahmundry.
Lakshmi said that the land identified for setting up industries included 45 acres in Kesavaram village in the same mandal which was suitable for coconut and cashew-based industries, 80 acres in Rajanagaram village for setting up agro/food training Institute, 13 acres in the same village for setting up a seed development project, 57 acres in Chollangi village of Tallarevu mandal for marine products processing unit, 50 acres in Turangi village of Kakinada rural mandal for silicon industry and 50 acres in Jaggampeta village for ceramics industry. These apart, the district administration had also identified 6 acres of land in Survey Number 162 of Peddapuram which was suitable for setting up a budget hotel, she added.
The DCPO said that once the government approved the proposals to allot the identified land to the industries, the latter would begin the process of land allotment. Stating that the district collector was keen on industrial development, Lakshmi added that the identified land is free from legal tangles and was suitable for setting up of various industries.
