Tirupati: A 17-year-old mentally-challenged girl was sexually assaulted by a 24-year-old daily wage labourer near Madanapalle on Sunday.
According to Madanapalle police, the victim is an orphan. Her uncle looks after her.

The accused, K. Soma Sekhar, 24, lured the victim to an isolated spot by offering her food and raped her.

When she returned home, her uncle was shocked to see that she was bleeding. The girl’s uncle and locals lodged a complaint with the Madanapalle police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Madanapalle police arrested the accused and has booked a case against him.
