Hyderabad: Hindupur TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna on Monday exposed his ignorance on Special Status issue when the actor-turned-politician said that it was the Chief Minister who will decide on the status for Andhra Pradesh. It is more surprising that the statement is coming from legislator and brother-in-law of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, N Balakrishna, who is also the most influential politician in the Telugu Desam Party.

When the State is witnessing an intense political uproar over Special Status, Balakrishna displaying utter ignorance made the statement which surprised everyone. When countered by the media, Balakrishna said that the Chief Minister would take a decision on whether to have Special Status or not.

Weighing advantages and disadvantages of having Special Status or not, Balakrishna is ignorant of the fact that the Special Status has to be granted by the Centre and the Chief Minister has no role to decide on it. Balakrishna seems to be unaware of how his brother-in-law Chandrababu Naidu is moving heaven and earth for achieving Special Status for Andhra Pradesh.
