Hyderabad: Visakhapatnam will soon have a Signature Tower, more appealing and imposing building as compared to Cyber Towers in Hyderabad. The State government is taking a series of measures for the construction of the towers of 10 lakh square feet in an area of 90 acre land at Pendurthi mandal in the district, Information and Technology Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said.
According to him, permission to develop Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) has already been given. Two IT giants, Wipro and Tech Mahendra, were allocated lands in Visakhapatnam and both the companies have promised to create about 11,400 jobs. The Wipro would be establishing a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the area and both these companies are expected to commence works from July this year, the Minister added.
Raghunatha Reddy said there was a good response to the Expression of Interest (EoI) floated by the government for appointment of a consultant to construct an iconic signature tower in the port city.
