BJP president Amit Shah is visiting Vijayawada on January 9 to participate in various party activities. He is expected to interact with the party leaders at all levels for boosting the membership drive and strengthening the BJP from the grass-root level in the state.

BJP state president K Haribabu told mediamen Saturday that Amit Shah will interact with the state executive committee members on the prospects of strengthening the party. The party leadership is keen on not disturbing the alliance with Telugu Desam Party in this regard.

Later, a meeting will be held with the party district presidents, secretaries and leaders of membership committees in which Amit Shah will review the membership drive. People’s representatives of the party elected to the Parliament and the Legislative Assembly will also participate in these meetings.
