AP Resumes 30% Bus Services,Telangana 7%,Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation,bus services continued to affect,indefinite strike across Telangana,EAMCET exam scheduled,Andhra Pradesh EAMCET exam schedule
For the second consecutive day, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus services continued to affect due to the indefinite strike across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. With EAMCET exam scheduled on May 8, the authorities are making frantic efforts to resume the bus services as soon as possible.
The official status report stated that the 1,979 of the scheduled 6,461 bus services were operated across A.P (30.6 percent) but in Telangana only 478 of 6,243 buses (7.5 percent) were operated.
Chief Traffic Manager S. Suresh Kumar said that Regional and Depot Managers are being asked to ensure that hired buses could be brought out of the depots using temporary drivers to help the estimated 2 lakh students who would be taking the EAMCET examinations on Friday.
Joint Managing Director (Telangana) G.V. Ramana Rao expressed hope that there would be a lot of improvement in services by May 14 when EAMCET examination in Telangana is scheduled and said that drivers from fire service department are being engaged to run the buses. Mr Rao on Thursday met Additional Director-General of Police (Telangana) Sudeep Lakhtakia requesting to ensure protection for the drivers who were willing to take out the hired buses.
