Bengaluru: It seems Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is impressed with his treatment at Jindal Naturecure Institute on Tumkur Road two years ago.
Kejriwal and Gandhian Anna Hazare spent some time at the institute on February 2, 2012 while they were in the city to address an India Against Corruption rally.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently advised Mr Kejriwal to consult Dr H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA), Bengaluru, for his persistent cough and high sugar levels. But ignoring Mr Modi’s suggestion, Mr Kejriwal is getting himself admitted at the Jindal Institute for 10 days.
Chief Administrator, Jindal Naturecure Institute, K. Ghosh said, “Mr Modi is a traditional believer of yoga and ayurvedic medicines. But both Mr Kejriwal and Mr Hazare have already been treated at our institute and they know about our holistic approach to ailments such as diabetes and cough.
Moreover, Mr Modi’s advice was made recently, while Mr Kejriwal had enrolled online a few months ago. Everyone has to apply online at our institute,” he said.
There is no strict pattern of treatment at the institute, which is on the outskirts of the city. The treating doctor will decide on the treatment on the spot, depending on the severity of the ailments, he said. There are separate units for aqua (underwater) therapy, yogic kriyas and asanas, physiotherapy, naturopathies, steam and sauna, and the treatment course will depend on the recommendations of the treating doctor, he added.
“We charge only a nominal sum for the accommodation and special treatment. We tend to avoid special treatment as it involves manual labour, electricity, water, etc., which we hardly recommend and depend only on natural means for cure,” he said.
