Hyderabad,Central team visits Hyderabad hospitals,three-member committee visit Hyderabad hospital
Hyderabad: The three-member committee, appointed by Union health ministry, has pointed out deficiencies in the functioning of the health apparatus of the state in the wake of the swine flu situation.
The committee also suggested a few measures to be taken to tackle such situations in the future in its meeting with CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday. The committee inspected the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Fever Hospital in the city.
The team comprised ADG of Health Dr Ashok Kumar, additional director of National Centre for Disease Control Shashi Khare, and officer for integrated disease surveillance programme Pradeep Khasnobis.
Although the members were scheduled to visit Ranga Reddy district, there wasn’t enough time. They said that junior doctors and nursing staff need to be educated about the precautions that ought to be taken in the event of such an outbreak. In their meeting with the Chief Minister, the committee members suggested a few measures to be taken.
They said that junior doctors and nursing staff need to be educated about the precautionary methods. They were, however, satisfied with the testing apparatus at the IPM and the Fever Hospital. It praised the government for offering free medicines and tests to patients.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said the government would rectify all the problems in the health machinery and blamed previous governments for the current state of affairs.
