New Delhi: Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti is miffed with political football being played in the name of Srisailam water sharing. Although she has confirmed her participation in Telangana government’s ambitious Mission Kakatiya programme, the firebrand minister decided to give it a skip because of the war of words between Irrigation Ministers of TS and AP, T Harish Rao and Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.
Apparently, Harish Rao attributed a “decision in favour” of Telangana over utilization of Srisailam water to Uma Bharti, which resulted in Devineni dashing off to Delhi to lodge a protest. Against the backdrop of these developments, Uma Bharti, it is learnt, wants to keep away from being dragged into troubled waters. She does not like to be seen favouring either of the States. Though she sees a reason in the Telangana demand over utilization of water, she would not like to annoy the TDP.
