The Centre has decided not to issue separate notifications authorizing Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to take charge of Hyderabad’s law and order, maintaining the status quo on Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act.

While the ongoing Telangana ACB probe will have no intervention from the NDA government in the cash for vote scam, however, the Governor has been asked to ensure law and order not only in Hyderabad but also both the states.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Friday was briefed by Governor ESL Narasimhan on the situation in both the states, allegations and counters allegations including purchase of MLAs, demand for strict implementation of Section 8 by the AP Government, phone tapping, Telangana government’s opposition over the Section 8 implementation along with the present law and order situation.
