Arvind Kejriwal vs Kiran Bedi
In the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections for all 70 seats, the Bhartiya Janta Party won 31 seats, followed by Aam Aadmi Party with 28 seats. Kejriwal defeated incumbent Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of the Indian National Congress in her constituency of New Delhi by a margin of 25,864 votes.
Kejriwal was sworn in as the second-youngest chief minister of Delhi on 28 December 2013. On 14 February 2014 he resigned as Chief Minister after failing to table the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly.
In 2014, Kiran Bedi expressed her desire to serve the country in the Narendra Modi led government, by offering herself to join the BJP. But the BJP has not invited her to join the party then. On 15 January 2015, after meeting with the Prime Minsiter of India Narendra Modi, Kiran Bedi joined the Bhartiya Janata Party.
Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal and many others protested for many days in Ramlila maidan against corruption and demanded the then central Government to pass the Lokpal Bill in the Parliament. The BJP leaders then had not met any one of those leaders who fought against corruption to extend their support. The BJP had not even pressurized the Central Government to pass the Lokpal Bill in the parliament then.
Even of today, BJP is against the Lokpal Bill (Anti corruption Bill). The BJP doesnot want the Bill to be passed in the parliament. Kiran Bedi also knew that it is the Congress and the BJP who are against the Anti corruption Bill in the Parliament. Even then she joined BJP.
AAP(Aam admi party) grabbed a major vote share in the last Delhi Assembly elections.
BJP gave a shocker to Aam Admi party recently by suddenly admitting former IPS Officer Kiran Bedi into the party to counter Aam Admi party leader Arvind Kejriwal and his strong influence on the people of Delhi. Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal both were closely associated with Anna Hazare in his fight against corruption and both have clean image.
