Can it be a year-and-a-half already? It seems like just yesterday that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, were outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital, debuting their newborn baby boy, Prince George, for all to see.
And now, the world can't wait for royal baby number two. Talking of the newest royal addition, we're glad to announce, it’s a princess for Prince William and Kate Middleton! Palace insiders have revealed that the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge are welcoming a baby girl. It's a girl for our favourite royals alright, but it's her supposed name that will give you the feels!
"Kate and William found out they were expecting a girl during the 21-week scan, and since then, everyone’s been asking what they plan to name her," a Palace insider told OK! magazine. Although the couple "felt they needed to either go with something very traditional, like Elizabeth or Mary, or something that had a lot of meaning to them. So they’ve gone with the latter."
So which name has a lot of meaning to the couple? Diana!
You may have already seen this one coming, but the couple has supposedly picked the name Diana, in honour of Prince William's late mother.
The cover of the February 16 cover of OK! Magazine reportedly announces that the unborn child will be named after her late grandmother. However, Celeb Dirty Laundry claims that the odds of Queen Elizabeth allowing that to happen are "slim to none."
Despite Princess Diana's estranged relationship with Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II, after she revealed private details about her marriage in a 1995 interview, William "never saw his mom as a royal figure – she was just his mom, and she adored him and his brother."
Of course Queen Elizabeth will never allow this to happen -- the name 'Diana' for William and Kate's new baby -- but watch this space for more on that.
Do you think that Prince William and Kate Middleton are actually having a girl that will be named Diana? Let us know in the comment section.
