Hyderabad: Congress leaders Renuka Chowdhury , Shravan Kumar and Addanki Dayakar along with OUJAC leaders met the Governor to intervene and ensure that the land of Osmania University was not taken away by the TRS government. Speaking to the media, Shravan Kumar and Addanki Dayakar held that “Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was promising houses for the poor by acquiring Osmania University land in view of GHMC elections.

He does not have the right to take up the University land. Governor should intervene in this to resolve the issue as per the Universities Act”, they said. They alleged that the government failed to protect the land of OU, as TRS MLA Mutti Reddy Yadagiri Reddy had already occupied part of it. In their representation, the OUJAC leaders held that Nizam had allocated thousands of acres of land.

He had established Osmania University with a wise intention to create the most serene academic environment with flora and fauna on par with international standards. However, due to the negligence of previous rulers, many acres of land were illegally occupied.
