Vijayawada: CPI on Monday demanded resignation of TDP MPs, who are part of the Union Cabinet, over Centre's "indifferent attitude" towards Andhra Pradesh. CPI's Andhra Pradesh Secretary K Rama Krishna told reporters here that Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu should lead an all-party delegation to Delhi against the Union Government for its "failure" to announce a special package for Andhra Pradesh and according special category status to the state.

"Since the last two days, both TDP and BJP leaders have been criticising each other, but the TDP did not announce that it would pull out of the NDA government," he said. According to him, people of the state feel that the ruling TDP was cheating them over the issues. Rama Krishna also sought clarifications from Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu over the stand taken by the NDA government on the special package for the state.

"At the time of the passage of the AP Re-organisation Bill in the Parliament, Venkaiah Naidu supported UPA's promises for the state. But now he maintains silence over the issue," the CPI leader said.

He warned that his party would lead a public movement along with other Left parties against the Modi government's "indifferent attitude" towards the state. He also lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that Centre's policies were benefiting only the corporates. Meanwhile, he also announced that a three-day long conference of CPI will be held in Vijayawada from Tuesday.

"CPI's 25th Andhra Pradesh State conference will be held here from tomorrow. A public meeting will be held on the opening day in which CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy and member central committee Dr K Narayana and others will address," he said.

On Wednesday and Thursday, during the delegates' session about 30 resolutions would be adopted, he added.Andhra Pradesh special status
