Hyderabad: Telangana Telugu Desam leader Revanth Reddy here on Friday appeared before the Nampally Criminal Court in connection with a defamation case filed against him. It may be recalled that My Home proprietor Rameswar Rao had filed the defamation case against Revanth Reddy for making derogatory remarks against him over a land deal. Revanth Reddy had leveled several allegations against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao saying that the TRS government had taken over 32 acres of land allotted to L&T in Gachibowli and allocated it to J Rameswar Rao of My Home Group.
Rameswar Rao had also served legal notices on the Telugu Desam Party leader and demanded a compensation of Rs 90 crore for making defamatory remarks. The court posted the matter for further hearing to April 28. Speaking to the media later, Revanth Reddy said KCR with his supporters was foisting false cases to terrorise him. He said under any circumstances, he would not succumb to arm-twisting tactics of Telangana Rashtra Samithi and would continue to fight legally against the corrupt practices of the KCR government. Alleging that KCR has love for the erstwhile Nizam regime and scant respect for democracy, Revanth Reddy said the people of the State taught a fitting lesson to the TRS in the MLC election.
