Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas pulled up duty doctors in the casualty ward of the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur for reportedly neglecting a five-year-old boy who was bitten severely by stray dogs and referred it to the Guntur Medical College Hospital (GMCH), according to reports reaching here.

Srinivas came to the hospitals after media persons alerted him that the kid, a resident of Kabela centre, Syam was referred to the Guntur hospital and however was not treated.

When the relatives of the kid told him that the doctors failed to clean the wound or even give an injection, the minister got angry, reports said.

According to reports, the boy had dog bite marks on the chest, hands and legs. More then three dogs had attacked the kid when he had gone out to answer nature's call at 7 am, according to reports.

The minister directed the Chief Medical Officer Chandrasekhar to issue memos to the duty doctors and place them under suspension pending an inquiry.
