Special Status to AP is blink,Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu,Sujana Chowdary,Special Status to Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: It seems the NDA government is not in a position to grant special status to the AP state as promised by the previous UPA government. Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Sujana Chowdary’s recent statements are hinting the same. Venkaiah Naidu in his recent visit to the state said “Congress party has simply made the promise before quitting the government as if to gain some political mileage out of it. But, we are trying to convince all the states to allow us to grant special status to the AP State as their consent is mandatory. It may take some to get a clear picture about this matter. But, opposition parties are trying to politicize this issue despite knowing about the process of according special status to any state.
Union Minister Sujana Chowdary in his latest statement said “The purpose of getting special status for the state is to get incentives and subsides for industrial promotion. So, it is not that important whether the state gets special status or not, but getting incentives and subsidies for industrial promotion is more important. So, we are trying to convince the Centre to grant maximum incentives and subsidies for our industrial promotion.”
