Harish Rao rules out corruption in Mission Kakatiya

Siddipet (Medak): Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said that the Telangana government had awarded tenders for Mission Kakatiya works in a transparent manner without giving scope for corruption. He said that the State government would take stringent action if anybody indulged in irregularities in the works of Mission Kakatiya.

Harish Rao was the chief guest at the district meeting of Telangana Vikasa Samithi held here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that a call centre would be set up soon so that farmers and general public can inform the government if any frauds take place in the works of Mission Kakatiya.

The Minister slammed the opposition parties for making allegations that commission payments were ruling the roost in Mission Kakatiya programme. He said that if at all the government was not serious about Mission Kakatiya then it would have awarded contracts to those people who were close to TRS party.

Harish Rao stated that the State government would set up a monitoring committee to supervise quality of Mission Kakatiya works. He hit out at successive State governments in the united AP for their inability to restore even 1,200 tanks in Telangana in a year. He pointed out that restoration work was taken up in 9,500 tanks in the first phase this year.
