Home Minister of AP Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, launched the first I-CLIK (Instant-Complaint Login Internet Kiosk), here in the city on Tuesday. The facility will enable women, who are generally apprehensive about visiting a police station, to file a complaint online from the kiosk. The first kiosk is located at CMR Mall, opposite the District Court Complex.

The Kiosk will have all modern facilities such as computer, high-speed internet connectivity, air-conditioned place to sit. There will be no policeman on duty and it resembles a normal internet kiosk.

The complaint format is menu driven and user friendly. One just has to login and file the complaint under the relevant crime section. Once the complaint is lodged, it will land up at the central command station located at the Police Commissionerate and the relevant police station will be alerted to act upon.

The complaint can be lodged either by voice, typed or hard copy can be scanned, said the Home Minister. He also launched the Abhayam mobile application. The application can be downloaded into any smart phone that operates on Android platform.

This application facilitates the reportage of crime within seconds and help women in distress. Once the application is downloaded all one has to do is to press a pre-determined emergency button and the call will be activated within 10 seconds.

The caller can lodge his or her complaint or problem and the call will be routed through a server at Hyderabad to the Central Command Station. And immediately, the nearest police station or police beat or patrol will be alerted and moved to the location. If the caller is unable to specify the location, then the location will be tracked through the help of GPS.
