Jindal Group,Water Grid Project
Jindal SAW Limited, the flagship company of OP Jindal Group, has evinced interest to supply pipes for drinking water projects in Telangana.
Jindal SAW Ltd chief executive officer cum director Neeraj Kumar and senior vice-president Maneesh Kumar called on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat here on Thursday.
Informing the chief minister that the new industrial policy of the state was very encouraging, the Jindal SAW Ltd expressed keen interest in supplying pipes for drinking water projects in the state.
Representatives of Jindal told the chief minister that they would manufacture pipes as per the needs of Telangana. They informed Rao that they had pipes manufacturing units at several places across the globe and they would set up one unit in Telangana too. Rao told them that the government would examine their proposal.
While informing that Jindal had experience in setting up steel factories, the representatives of the group requested the chief minister to give them a chance to set up a steel factory in the state, according to a release by chief minister’s office (CMO). Rao explained about the new industrial policy and also various developmental works being planned in the state.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail project was also being expanded and IT, pharma, film city were coming up on the city outskirts, Rao said.
He said several industries would come up in the state in the coming next few months and wanted Jindal to participate in the industrial development of the state.
