Kakinada: The East Godavari medical and health authorities have geared up to treat swine flu (H1N1) cases in the district. They are keeping constant vigil through PHCs and CHCs in addition to the district-level monitoring.  Dr M Raghavendra Rao, district nodal officer for H1N1 and head of the Department of Chest Diseases in Kakinada Government General Hospital (KGGH), said no new swine flu cases were reported in the last 10 days in the district.

A man and a woman from Dowlaiswaram who got infected with H1N1, were discharged a week ago after providing medical aid to them at KGGH. Dr Rao suspected that the two youngsters who attended an interview in Hyderabad a fortnight ago might have been affected with H1N1 during their stay at the place. The symptoms were noticed after a few days of their return as they stayed indoors and were rushed for medical aid soon after the health problem was noticed.
