Hyderabad: The bills of Rs 19 crore expenditure on the tours of AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in 13 districts of the State since one year are still pending.

The Collectors of all districts were in a ticklish situation with the mounting pressure from the persons concerned that they could not go further unless the pending bills of hotels and other arrangements were cleared.

They brought the problem to the attention of AP Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao.

Krishna Rao directed the Finance department to release Rs 19 crore - Rs 3 crore each to Chittoor, Visakhapatnam and Krishna districts and Rs 1 crore each to the remaining 10 districts. But there are no budget allocations to release Rs 19 crores and additional funds have to be released.

But the power to release additional funds lies with Principal Secretary (Finance) PV Ramesh only. However, additional funds could not be released till Monday (June 29) since Ramesh is on a foreign tour and is expected to rejoin duties on Monday.

Now reports are emerging that a whopping amount of Rs 26 lakh was spent for the review meeting that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held in Vijayawada on Friday.
