Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi,Nooyi to visit Andhra Pradesh,Chandrababu Naidu

HYDERABAD: Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi is slated to visit Andhra Pradesh in the first week of April and discuss expansion plans of the company specific to the state with chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Sources said the beverages plant in Sri City in Chittoor district is ready for operations and will In be inaugurated by Nooyi in April. During her visit, the expansion plans, in which Pepsico wants AP to export mango pulp and tender coconut water, will be dis cussed with Naidu, they said."Yes, the meeting between the two is on," AP industries secretary S S Rawat said.

It was during Naidu's Davos visit that he met met Nooyi and discussed possible investments in the state. AP officials had then claimed that Pepsico wanted to procure about 250 million tonnes of mango for manufacturing its drinks. In response, the CM is said to have stated that AP produced about 70 million tones of mango annually at present and can in crease the production if needed. Sources said the beverages giant is also keen on exports of other products like jowar, papaya and banana from the state.
