Rains accompanied by winds continued on Monday morning and brought much needed relief to the people of the national capital which had turned unusually warm in recent days.

The weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorm heavier than Sunday.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wished the students appearing for their board exams which are starting from Monday and advised them to leave early since there are massive traffic jams on the roads of Delhi.

He has also asked the AAP volunteers to help clear the jam.

The minimum temperature on Monday morning was 13 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 22 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 78 per cent.

The minimum temperature on Sunday settled settled at 15 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average, and the maximum temperature was 27 degrees. The weather will start improving by Tuesday.

The entire North India is witnessing heavy rainfall. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand were engulfed in rain and snowfall.

Jammu-Srinagar highway has also been closed due to heavy snowfall and landslides.

Due to deepening of the westerly trough into central Arabian sea, the wind confluence is continuing over central India and neighbourhood.
