Awarding special status for the newly formed Andhra Pradesh state has been a long pending issue and there was hardly any comment from the government officials until now. Though there was an agitation of sorts in the parliament from the past couple of days, there hasn't been any movement in the ruling party until now. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has celebrated Holi, the festival of colors in New Delhi today and the media was all over with many questions for him and Rajnath has simply ignored them.

In a response to a Telugu tv channel's question, Rajnath Singh has said that the central government will surely look into the 'Special Status for Andhra' issue in the coming days. That is what the home minister has said and this clearly indicates that the government is considering the option. As Pawan Kalyan said, if the MPs of AP can pressurize the government - there is a high possibility of a success in this regard.

On the other hand, the Congress leaders in AP are promising an unimaginable act. According to them, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has agreed to raise the Special Status issue in the parliament and also assured them the same. We just need to wait for few more days to see if all this happens!
