Ramalinga Raju Caught Using Mobile Phone in Jail

Corporate tycoon and founder of Satyam computers Ramalinga Raju was found using mobile phone inside jail. Raju, who was convicted in world's biggest corporate fraud, has been jailed with Kaidi no. 4148 in the Central prison, Cherlapalli. Raju was reportedly found with a mobile phone and two SIM cards on Thursday within the jail. Flouting the rules and norms of jail, Ramalingaraju said to be using mobile phone to communicate with his family members and friends.

The sudden inspection by jail officials brought this into light. They took possession of the mobile phone and two SIM cards and ordered for a thorough inquiry. Probe is under way to establish facts that who helped Mr Ramalinga Raju in providing him cell phone inside jail. An inquiry is on to find out the responsible staff.

The former chairman of Satyam Computers quit his position on Jan 7, 2009 and allegedly admitted his own mistake which he later denied. He was convicted for manipulating huge sum to the tune of Rs 71.36 billion including Rs 50.40 billion of non-existent cash and bank balances. Raju has already spent in jail over 1 year and was sentenced for another six months jail recently.
