Andhra Pradesh PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy has announced that Congress party will conduct a public meeting in Andhra Pradesh in April and the party president Sonia Gandhi will address the gathering.

It is a known fact that bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh cost Congress dear in the general elections and the party totally lost plot in the state with miserable defeat.  

Now, Sonia's meeting will be very crucial for the Congress as its leaders have pinned their hopes on her to boost the morale of the party cadre.  Sonia Gandhi's meeting had drawn up huge crowds but low turnout greeted her when she addressed rallies after the bifurcation.

The response was saturnine and  it reflected the anger of the people of Seemandhra region over states’s bifurcation. And, the recent Tirupati by-poll results clearly indicated that the anger is still alive among the public.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the Congress president will instill confidence among the cadre to save the the party's future. Sonia Gandhi is expected to corner the ruling BJP party over the special status to Andhra Pradesh.
