Hyderabad: Telangana state government has asked Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited to submit a techno commercial study and feasibility report on the proposed realignment. It also sought the likely additional expenditure in view of the Metro realignment it had suggested.
Telangana government wrote a letter Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited in this regard on Thursday. The realignment issue has now been cleared with the CMO officially communicating the change of route to the concessionaire L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd.
The route at the Assembly side will be diverted from behind with the Metro Rail diverting after the Lakdikapul station towards Police Officers Store and then the DGP (AP) office, police quarters along the railway track to the open space near Telugu University Gate.
The second route Sultan Bazaar will be diverted from Badi Chowdi where there will be a left turn towards Tilak Road and backside of Koti Women’s College. There will also be a change of route at Nampally since MIM has argued that it was necessary to save many religious structures.
The proposed realignment at Nampally is to take the route along the Musi River, Bahadurpura, Kalapathar to Falaknuma. The original alignment was Darulshifa, Miralam Mandi, Etebar Chowk, Moghalpura and other densely populated areas.
While the changed routes are chalked out, there is no word on the amount of compensation to be paid to L and T. This re-alignment at Nampally has been proposed as the present route will affect seven temples, 28 mosques and 1,000 houses.
A senior officer of L and T explained, The changed route will be studied, its technical feasibility will be evaluated and then accordingly our inputs will be put before the government. Another senior officer explained, The cost of compensation will have to be worked.”
