KCR heaps praise on Modi governance
Hyderabad: Is TRS moving closer to the BJP and will the two parties forge an alliance in the near future? This speculation is making rounds since Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao started praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his governance. The latest such incident was on Thursday when KCR during a meeting with top bureaucrats and key ministers at his camp office to discuss the proposals to be submitted to Niti Ayog. KCR elaborated about how the Modi government was adopting novel and innovative measures to propel the nation on development path.
It is a positive and welcome development for the states that Modi who was the chief minister till recently had adorned the coveted prime minister’s post. Modi is revamping many Central schemes and taking steps to ensure maximum funds from the Centre to states, he added. The fact that the Telangana government has decided to endorse the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign in a big way also indicates the major shift in TRS attitude towards the BJP.
He also instructed officials to take up this campaign on first and third Saturdays of every month. He also laid emphasis on construction of toilets in schools. Besides, KCR suggested bringing in a new law to ensure shops and business establishments open on Sundays. However, staff should be adjusted by giving weekly-offs strictly, he noted. He reiterated the government’s resolve to empty water in the highly polluted Hussain Sagar this summer and clean it.
Security woes for IAS officers Meanwhile, confusion prevailed outside CM’s residence for some time with security officials stopping IAS officials at the entrance and asking them to show their identity cards. Many IAS officers, including Home Secretary B Venkatesham, were stopped by the security personnel. Finance Minister Eatala Rajender has to ensure the bureaucrats enter the CM’s residence.
