TTD planning for a Yoga Village in Tirupati
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is planning to set up a ‘Yoga Village’ in Tirupati to spread yoga culture.
An official team comprising Tirupati JEO Pola Bhaskar, chief engineer Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Sri Venkateswara Ayurvedic Pharmacy officials, SV Ayurveda College principal Rajaiah and revenue officials inspected the site adjacent to NCC office on SV Zoo Park road, where the TTD has sufficient land.
They visited Sri Venkateswara Pharmacy premises at Narasingapuram, adjacent to Srinivasa Mangapuram, near Tirupati.
After leaving the 30 acres on zoo road allocated for international stadium by Kiran Kumar Reddy government, the remaining land was inspected and TTD estate officer was advised to prepare a land map after leaving space for university stadium and tourism project.
“Yoga Village in a pleasant area is a part of the devotional smart city concept, which is in the drafting stage. We have inspected pharmacy land and infrastructure available there,” said an official of the TTD. Though the TTD set up Sri Venkateswara Yoga and Allied Sciences Study Centre in the 80s, it was not developed in a full-fledged manner. The TTD has given priority to developing Sri Venkateswara Ayurvedic College and Hospital.
