A day after making strong comments against incumbent TDP government in Andhra Pradesh, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan clarified that he is not making petty politics but just giving voice to injustice meted out to poor farmers and agricultural labour. Setting the record straight, Pawan said, "My intention is not to corner the state government or not to hamper its ambitious project. Since I rallied for TDP during the elections, responsibility lies on me to question the government and point out its faults. I don't have any objections on the lands given by farmers voluntarily. But I'm trying to highlight the plight of farmers in Bethapudi, Undavalli and Penamaka." Pawan added that his visit has no political significance but just an attempt to meet farmers who have invited him. Pawan also expressed his admiration for CM Chandrababu Naidu and wished that he'd continue as CM till 2024.
Pointing out that AP Capital region is larger than Singapore, Pawan stated, "One shouldn't kill villages for the sake of development. I'm staunch follower of Gandhiji's Grama Swarajyam. The land secured for AP Capital is larger than Singapore nation. No doubt, government is ambitious and considering the issues that might erupt in the years to come. I urge government to consider issues like how long it would take to construct."
At the same time, Pawan Kalyan took dig at BJP directly and stated that it went back on its word by failing to deliver its promise of Special Status to AP. "I'm tired of hearing excuses from BJP government. They say they'd do but I'd like to know when it's going to happen? Also mere fund of Rs 100 Crore allotted to Polavaram project is disappointing."
Commenting on Loan waiver promises made by Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan stated that Chandrababu is committed to waive off loans, however, he added that government is short of funds. To an extent, Pawan backed Chandrababu but smoothly advised him on few issues. On other hand, he blamed BJP directly.
