New Delhi: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that no more separatists will be freed without consulting alliance partner BJP in the Jammu and Kashmir. The statement has come after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi rapped PDP for releasing separatist leader Masarat Alam in Parliament.

While denouncing release of Alam who spearheaded 2010 protest in J&K in which more than 100 people were killed, Modi said that his government won't tolerate any compromise with the nation's integrity.

According to reports, after facing flak over the matter, J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed telephoned Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday. Sayeed assured Home Minister saying that now onwards proper procedure will be followed on the matter of releasing political prisoners.

Amidst raging controversy, reportedly, BJP has asked PDP to arrest Alam again, though it has not been confirmed officially. Earlier, a report said that the decision to release Masarat Alam was taken before Mufti government took guards in Jammu and Kashmir. It was already been decided during 49 days of governor's rule in the state.

It is being said that the Additional Secretary of the Home Ministry had asked Jammu's District Magistrate to free separatist leader. On Monday, Prime Minister spoke in Lok Sabha as members from various political parties created an uproar over the development, terming it as "anti-national" and dangerous to the country's integrity, and dared BJP to pull out of the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led government.

"I assure the country and the House that whatever is happening there (in J and K), the Union government was neither consulted not informed... Government does not accept such action. "In one voice, we express our anger against those supporting separatists and misusing the law. In the coming days, we will take whatever action is required and we are committed to the nation's integrity," Modi said.
