Mangalagiri (Guntur): A YSRCP fact-finding committee consisting of MLAs and party leaders was successful in making the Vice Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University file a police complaint against the Principal of College of Architecture, Baburao.
The committee visited ANU campus and interacted with students, hostel warden, VC Sambasiva Rao and Registrar Rajasekhar regarding death of B.Arch student Rishiteshwari. They sought the authorities file a police complaint against the Principal of College of Architechture, Baburao and initiate action against him.
Bowing to their pressure, VC Sambasiva Rao filed a complaint with Circle Inspector of Pedakaakaani police station against the Principal Baburao. While interacting with authorities, YSRCP MLA R K Roja demanded that the principal be made accused no 1 in chargesheet. She regretted that even three weeks after the death of Rishetheshwari, police complaint had not been lodged against the Principal.
She asked the authorities whether they would act in the same way, if one of their daughters met such a tragic end. MLAs Ramakrishna and Parthasar-adhi demanded the Vice-Chancellor to arrange for daily police patrolling in the campus. They also demanded booking of Principal under the Anti-Ragging Act. They asserted that even oral complaints about ragging should be taken seriously.
