Reports making rounds in media circles are to be trusted, then the Times of India, which is the largest circulated English daily in India is planning to take over the Sakshi Telugu daily promoted by YSRCP boss Jaganmohan Reddy.
This might be at least in Hyderabad even as sources say that the TOI management is now negotiating with Jagan and his team for acquiring majority of stake in Jagathi Publications. However, sources say the TOI is mainly interested in running the daily just in Hyderabad and the districts of Telangana.
In Coastal Andhra, Jagan would reportedly be having a complete control over Sakshi, as that would be beneficial for his political activities in Andhra Pradesh in the coming days. As such, Sakshi has sizeable readership in the Andhra Pradesh state.
This also comes after few reports recently that Jagan is expected to wind up Sakshi daily in the region of Telangana, because here it is neither profitable nor does it help his party politically in the new state.
