Hyderabad: Telangana Congress presents a picture of divided house as some of the members have appreciated the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao’s power-point presentation on redesigning of the irrigation projects in the Telangana Legislature on March 31.
Appreciating the Telangana Chief Minister's in-depth of knowledge of the subject, former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy remarked that he has gained insight into the harnessing of river water resources.
The Congress and Telugu Desam had boycotted the presentation on two rivers – Krishna and Godavari -- stating that the use of electronic methods for sharing information was against the convention. Some leaders expressed opinion that they have lost out an opportunity to question the Chief Minister on some of the claims regarding irrigation projects, costs involved and the plans to redesign some irrigation projects.
Finally, the Congress decided to bite the bullet. On Monday, the Congress announced that it would hold a power point presentation at Gandhi Bhavan on April 9. TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that they want to refute government's claims on irrigation projects.
