Reason behind Chiranjeevi's Arrest at Rajahmundry Airport

Actor turned politician Chiranjeevi was detained at Rajahmundry airport on Monday morning. He was arrested by local police as per the section 151 of IPC, outside the airport as precautionary measures. Chiranjeevi was there to meet Kapu agitation leader and former minister Mudragada who is fasting for inclusion of Kapu community in BCs.

Section 151 of IPC says "Whoever knowingly joins or continues in any assembly of five or more persons likely to cause a disturbance of the public peace, after such assembly has been lawfully commanded to disperse, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both. "

AP Congress chief Raghuveera Reddy was accompanying Chiru. He was also taken into custody. Both Chiru and Raghuvvera wanted to extend their support to Mudragada on behalf of Congress party.

Knowing of Chiru and Raghuveera's arrests, congress party workers staged protest to release them. Chiranjeevi is sitting Rajyasabha MP from Congress.
