The car of YCP MLA, S.V. Mohan Reddy, was lifted from his home by robbers. The MLA had purchased new Scorpio just two days earlier. Along with the car, the robbers made off with a suitcase containing Rs 23000 and a CCTV camera kept in it.
Mohan Reddy's residence is next door to the District Superintendent of Police office and near to many district level offices.
In a complaint to the police, Mohan Reddy made a mention of the cash and CCTV camera being in it.
With the CCTV camera gone, it would be quite a task for the police to trace the carlifters. They would abandon the car at some place, but the robbers were bound to misuse the CCTV camera.
Unlike local thieves, Inter-state gangs are drawn by the material than the person's standing. It is significant that they struck the house by the SP's office.
