'Baahubali - The Beginning' bagged National Awards in the category Best Film and Best Special Effects. Why wasn't SS Rajamouli honoured for being the sole person responsible for making an epic action drama on par with Hollywood?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali bagged the Best Director award for 'Bajirao Mastani'. This decision didn't go down well with everyone who appreciated 'Baahubali'.
Jury Member Kaushik explains the committee were under immense pressure as both Baahubali and Bajirao Mastani were epics. He says Bhansali has become the final choice because of the perfection shown in the execution, be it sets, acting & detailing.
At the same time, Kaushik opines Baahubali is a project which could be compared to any Hollywood epic but had to prefer Bhansali over Rajamouli due to the above mentioned factors.
