Selva Raghavan is a popular director down south with cult following for his versatile films like 7/G Brindavan Colony, Dhoolpet and Yuganiki Okkadu etc. The creative director's last film, Varna, starring Anushka and Arya in the lead roles was a huge financial disaster and critics and audiences lashed out at the film's incomprehensible theme. The director now says that he terribly regrets for making the film.
Deeply saddened by the disappointing reaction towards his film, Selva Raghavan, or Sree Raghava for Telugu audiences, decided to quit filmmaking and even announced his retirement. However, after a long sabbatical, Selva Raghavan decided to return to filmmaking and is readying a script for Simbu.
