Popular comedian Shakalaka Shankar, who will be seen as a cop in Pawan Kalyan’s Sardar Gabbar Singh, was in the news recently as the superstar had to ask him to tone down his behaviour on the sets. Clarifies Shankar, “Pawan Kalyan is God for me and everyone knows how much I admire him. He personally called me and gave me this role.”
Dismissing rumours that Pawan Kalyan slapped him, Shankar says, “I shot with him for a month and he was always jovial on the sets. He called me on a few occasions and asked me to sing a few songs. I even prepared chepala pulusu for him and he liked it a lot.”
The comedian says that he was shooting for another film at night and for SGS during the day. “Though I worked at night, I was always on time for Sardaar Gabbar Singh,” he says.
He adds that he looks up to Pawan Kalyan as his god, inspiration and everything. “If I would not do a scene properly, he would warn me, and that’s it. It is not true that he slapped me,” says the comedian.
“You can ask any producer, director or artiste about my punctuality or whether I have said anything wrong about anyone. I always do my work and I never interfere in others’,” he adds.
