Richa Gangopadhyay  started her career as model and won several beauty pageants in US. Later she made her filmy debut with Sekhar Kammula’s Leader. Despite getting some good number of offers, the actress’ career not moved forward and she finally bid goodbye to films.

In October 2013, Richa announced in her Twitter account that she will be taking a break from her films and moved back to the USA to pursue her MBA.

Now as per reports the actress have received American honor. She received Michigan India Association’s Michigan India Hall of Fame Award and the Congressional Recognition. A certificate and a memento were presented to the actress on last Sunday.

This prestigious award is presented to select Indians for their excellence in various fields. In a short span of her film career she acted with star heroes of Tollywood like Venkatesh , Ravi Teja , Prabhas . Richa’s last notable appearance was with Nagarjuna in Bhai movie.
