Neha Hinge, the Miss India International 2010, has been cast as the female lead opposite Vijayakanth's son Shanmugapandian, who is making his film debut in Sagaptham. Interestingly, Neha plays a village belle in the film and will be seen sporting traditional attires like the half-sari.

Tollywood girl Shubra Aiyappa is the other female lead in the film, which is directed by Surendran. Recently, the team shot stunts sequences in Malaysia and Thailand. In Pinang, Malaysia, the stunt was choreographed by Thai stunt director Kecha, who shot the sequence with 200 fighters in the middle of the sea. In Thailand, the team shot a martial arts fight scene at Pattaya beach, in which the highlight, the unit says, will be a Samurai sword fight involving Shanmugapandian and two female fighters.
