Rajahmundry: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called upon the entrepreneurs to come up with a firm resolve to find innovative plans on the eve of ongoing Godavari Maha Pushkaralu to set up industrial units and assured to extend real time help to set up and promote the industries in a big way in the state.
Addressing a large gathering of industrialists and entrepreneurs at a workshop held at Anam Kala Kendram on the sidelines of ongoing Godavari Maha Pushkaralu, Naidu said that industrial development in the state was not up to the mark and claimed credit that it was only the information technology which developed the Hyderabad to become an IT hub.
He said that it was the IT only which made newly formed Telangana state to get surplus budget and added that quoting XIV Finance Commission report that AP would continue to get deficit budget during its period and also in the next FC term. Referring to the port states like Singapore, Mal-aysia, Japan, Korea and China, the CM said that they would witness development in fivefold when compared to the states located inland. He felt the need to develop AP as a gateway of India to East Coast by developing the ports at Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Gangavaram, Visakhapatnam and at other places.
He said that the upcoming capital city Amaravati would be connected to all the ports in the state. He called for developing the roads, airports and railways world class under various models like BOT, PPP and Hybrid in an innovative manner and urged to develop rail cargo. He said that the industrialists and entrepreneurs would be having more opportunities to promote their business interests in Amaravati and asked them to avail. He appreciated the Singapore government and its citizens there as they stand for individuality, honesty and commit themselves to do hard work and said, "Based on my previous acquaintance with them, I requested to prepare master plans for building a new capital city for AP soon after assuming charge as CM and they did it and submitted three plans. Though we inherited deficit budget and facing financial constraints and trouble in land acquisition, I wish to take the crisis as an opportunity and prove that we can overcome it."
The CM said that if no land was given for taking up infrastructure projects, no development would come and said that once the infrastructure was built, the land value would automatically go up. He said that the state is having mineral wealth in abundance by saying that bauxite at Paderu and Araku, coal at Chinthalapudi, barytes at Mangampadu,and limestone and galaxy granite stone in Ralayaseema and beach sand all along the coast.
He felt the need to go for value addition to the mineral wealth and called for promotion of agro-processing, fisheries, horticulture, dairy development, poultry and other allied sectors.
The CM said, "I appeal to you all to work hard to develop world class infrastructure and promote blue, green and industrial revolution with genuine interest and transparency in functioning. I will give clearances for setting up units in 21 days at single window by providing all requisite infrastructure including quality power 24x7 and release subsidy real time."
