Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the people to join hands to make AP No 1 in the country in the implementation of Swachh Bharat mission.
He was speaking at Swachh Bharat programme organised on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi in Guntur today. The CM said that everyone should take responsibility to keep the surroundings clean.
The CM asked the people to adopt villages. He exuded confidence that the state would achieve 100 per cent implementation of individual toilet scheme soon. "I will not sleep till the target is achieved," he said.
Chandrababu announced that 12 garbage-based power plants would be set up in the state and 77 per cent garbage generated in the state would be used for power production.
Chandrababu claimed the state achieved a growth rate of 9.7 per cent in the first quarter of this fiscal year higher than the national average of 7.1 per cent.
