Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seem to have put special focus on Kadapa district which is said to be a bastion of YS family. Recently TDP is in talks with Jammalamadugu YSR Congress MLA and on the other side, the state government is also focused on the development of the district.
The state government is planning to start the steel plant and some other industries here to create employment opportunities. Recently the state government opened an airport there but the response is not that great.
The state government agreed to bear the loss incurred in running flights from there. And so the flight services from Kadapa airport will begin very soon. Naidu feels that this airport will become beneficial once the economic activity starts there.
